The games

Four games. Four worlds.

A gothic cartoon auto-battler. An Indonesian folklore survivor. A cult-horror shooter. A haunted video store. Each one is built as its own place, in the genre that suits it.

BLACKBELL key art: a rubber-hose cartoon hero with a curly black mop of hair raises a glowing compass charm, a hooded cat archer beside him, under a giant black bell on a red sky.

Gothic cartoon auto-battler roguelite

Build your company. Set the stage. Break the Bell.

A single-player auto-battler roguelite drawn like a haunted 1930s cartoon. Recruit a strange company, place them on the board, and let them fight.

Every unit evolves through three hand-drawn forms as you collect copies. Combine Traits, decide who holds the front line and who stays back, then watch the company fight on its own.

A branching road of battles, encounters, Drafts, Forges and Challenges leads through four acts toward the source of the Black Bell.

Recruit & evolve
Units grow from 1★ to 3★, and their look changes with them.
Combine Traits
Build a company around the Traits that suit your run.
Set the stage
Frontline, backline, targets and spacing decide the fight.
Four acts
Selectable Travellers, higher Ascensions, one haunted road.
NISKALA key art in pixel art: a young silat fighter in white with a red sash runs across flooded temple stones at night, chased by a hopping Pocong spirit under a full moon.

Indonesian folklore survivor roguelite

One very long night.

40
playable characters
71
weapons
230
items
20
waves until dawn

Survive twenty waves of the spirits from Indonesian folklore: Pocong, Kuntilanak, Tuyul and many more. Rebuild between waves at the Night Stall, then go back in with something worse.

Pick one of forty fighters, from a silat Fighter to Ondel-Ondel, and hold the clearing while the horde grows. By wave seventeen the camera has to back up.

Two figures from legend wait at the end of the night: Antaboga and Nyi Roro Kidul.

Kuntilanak
A woman in white with long hair. In the stories you hear her laugh before you see her.
Tuyul
A tiny spirit that, in the stories, gets sent out to steal money.
Antaboga
The great serpent of the underworld from Javanese wayang.
Nyi Roro Kidul
Queen of the Southern Sea.

Two more windows, lit but not yet open.

From the SEKTE title screen: a blood-red moon over a dark town, a lone bell tower and sagging power lines.

First-person cult horror

A first-person cult-horror shooter set in an Indonesian town.

“the congregation of the bell has woken”

Coming soon
The FREAKFLIX title screen: the neon REWIND VIDEO sign glowing pink and teal over a rainy storefront at night.

FREAKFLIX

VHS horror deckbuilder

Inherit a failing video rental store. Keep it open by day. The tape in the back room is the problem.

Coming soon

Studio

A lit window at night, and the pull of whatever is on the other side.

Pale Window Studio is an independent game studio building distinct interactive worlds across different genres.

Every project starts from a place worth looking into. The genre comes second, chosen to suit that world. That is how a haunted cartoon auto-battler ends up on the same slate as an Indonesian folklore survivor, a cult-horror shooter and a video store with something wrong in the back room.
